AK Road Trippin'

We originally planned our trip to go to a wedding of a friend in Fairbanks.  Here is Harper celebrating after being quiet for 10 minutes during the wedding ceremony.   We did have the secret weapon (a watermelon lollipop) locked and loaded in Jeff's shirt pocket if it was needed!

Fast Friends. No surprise that Harper adores Tim Robb.

Our property on Tenderfoot Bluff is a short drive from a state park on Quartz Lake.  We rented a boat for the day and Harper got to steer the ship.  Despite Jeff's best efforts, the fish were safe for the day.

The AK Rigbys.  Our 8-day trip covered over 1,060 miles - 350 of which were done during one day from Fairbanks to Anchorage (7 hours).  Harper was great but we are thankful for portable DVD players.

Harper and Jeff riding down the hill on the Risdon Rig.  Tim uses this to run dogs in the summer - Harper loved going down the hill and getting pushed around on "the rig"

Feeding the ducks.  What you don't see in the picture is the flock of seagulls hovering above Harper ready to swoop down.

Harper's first cabin bath.

First Smore!  Oh, Heaven.  She talked about it the rest of the trip.

it looks like your vacation was much more relaxing than my 3 weeks of construction leave...
not sure if you guys have seen the Rigbuild site: http://rigbuild.blogspot.com/
there is a random collection of photos of our house being demolished and (somewhat) rebuilt. we are still roofless

These pictures are GREAT!!! All of you look so healthy and happy -- I love Harper's expression on Things That Move (boats, rigs).

Thanks for sharing these fantastic photos--looks like a great trip. My only question is where do you find bowls big enough for your own cabin baths?
